i've been such a bad blogger lately. i guess you could say i've been in a cyber-world slump; just keeping up with every day life seems enough in and of itself, and documenting it...all the time...just gets overwhelming sometimes. i really envy those moms who seem to effortlessly blog, journal, scrap, take photographs (i do okay on that one), and then also play mother, wife, chauffeur, employee, etc.......and they don't even look tired! well, i wish i could clone myself or something so i could accomplish more. although, i should probably give myself a break since i haven't slept more than 2 hours at a stretch for several months now. i am really going to try to do more blogging of our lives though for friends and family. i take gazzillions of pictures, most of which are never seen, so i need to post more. :)
so an update on us. jackson had tubes put in on the 13th and his ears are finally clear! i'm now just so thankful i don't have to worry about speech delays or hearing impairments, and i finally feel confident about our decision to do them. but, the downside is that he was still really fussy the week after surgery, and on tuesday i noticed a hard lump in his thigh while i was changing him. as a mom, your first thoughts are not always rational ones, :) so i called his pediatrician, who wanted to see him right away. turns out he had a reaction to one of those dreaded injected antibiotics they administered a few days before his surgery as a last ditch effort to get rid of the chronic infection. he said it could take up to 2 months for it to go away, so we still have a clingy baby who insists on sleeping with yours truly (and if i'm being honest, i'm starting to get a little attached to co-sleeping...bad mommy). and so it goes. it's definitely been a rough couple of months, not to mention they both somehow came down with a cold the other day....go figure. :)
otherwise, he's your typical almost-7-month-old, rolling everywhere, sitting like a champ, loving baby food, babbling and laughing his sweet belly laugh.....finally. he's also the definition of a mamma's boy, and i'm not going to complain. :)
sophia is doing so well - my witty, funny little girl. man that kid has the best little sense of humor of any kid i've been around (although i could certainly be bit biased). she is her usual funny self these days, saying things like, "Oh my, baby doll! That's a loooot of poop!" after she changes her for the 6th time in a row. i keep telling her she might want to adjust her baby's diet!! ;) she also is all too familiar with the doctor now, and walks around here with a stethoscope around her neck, gloves on her hands (aka mittens), and nothing but a pair of undies on to complete the look all the while informing me of what procedures she has to do to her baby. poor baby. gosh, she cracks me up.
she recently upgraded to a "big girl bed" and below are a few pictures of her in all her morning glory, including bed head, that killer laugh and her sweet little pj's. i love me some babies in the morning.....
and for whatever reason, i cannot separate these photos without them looking all funky...typepad has changed things and i can't figure out what the problem is! so here they are all squished. :)
